Longan Forum Phrase V Kicked Off

 On the afternoon of January 26th of 2018, Longan Forum Phrase V, focusing on legal issues of cross-border merger & acquisition in the EU, kicked off at Longan Shenzhen Office. This forum was initiated by Longan’s “Belt and Road” Legal Service Center and organized by Longan Shenzhen Office.
Four guests were specially invited for this legal forum: Dr. Yifan Zhu, Mr. You Shang, Ms. Lin Xu and Ms. Xueying Zhang, and each of them gave an excellent lecture to Longan’s lawyers. In the first part, Dr. Zhu, Head of China Business of Noerr (a German law firm), shared with attendees the tax planning in German family business mergers and acquisitions with the focus on real estate tax issues as a result of equity transferring in entities which held real estates, as well as their solutions. In the second part, Dr. You Shang, Director of China Business of Jeantet (a French law firm), introduced French laws in merger, and specifically mentioned the government regulation on and approval of sensitive and specific industries. In the third part, Ms. Lin Xu, Manager of China Business of Loyens & Loeff (a Netherlandish law firm) introduced the investment strengths in Netherlands. In the last part, Ms. Xueying Zhang, Director of China & Far East Business of Sherrards (an English law firm), focused on the legal due diligence in English mergers, with reference to the preferential policies offered to global investors by the British government.
In the end, Mr. David Hongwei Jia gave a summary of this forum and hoped that by this forum guests and Longan lawyers could know each other better. Longan Shenzhen Office would continue giving full play to the advantages of its many international legal professionals and hold more similar activities to improve their professionalism.
